A new label to me coming off a single vineyard in the Ferguson Valley.
As per the label, "The 'rock of solitude' is a single rock in the vineyard, facing west overlooking Geographe Bay."
This is a more than approachable GSM.
Jumping right in, scents of pan juices, char, tilled black earth and tea are met by raspberries, cherries and dried red flowers. Certainly more than I bargained for and I'm not complaining.
Bright in the glass, it's energetic in the mouth too. The fruit steps up and comes to the fore swiping away the savoury characters which came before. Fine, grippy and drying tannins linger. Tasty and then some. Good stuff.
Drink now to five years.
