Cabernet is a variety not often discussed when the Hunter Valley is mentioned. Here's a beauty to wrap your hands around.

Planted in 1973, this is a great buy.

Poured into the glass, there's an attractive vibrancy to its appearance. It's all things cedar, milk chocolate, pan juices, dried herbs and blackberries. There's some tension but the good times are plentiful. A big thumbs up from me.

Drink now to six years.
