For those seeking simplicity, this non-vintage fizz from Sorby Adams is not an overly complex wine.
A blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay (70/30), the mousse was bursting from the glass and literally died out within seconds. Tasted in a Riedel Ouverture Magnum glass (as I do for all wines), the sparkles came to a dead stop much to my surprise. I reckon I could have poured this and served it a few minutes later and it would appear to be a table wine.
Golden apple, pears, white fleshed nectarines, the white bit of the strawberry and a fine almond nuttiness are there if you sift around long enough. A green tea like texture adds its thumbprint but the fruit doesn't hang around for long with the texture riding out the long shift.
If simplicity is your thing, you may enjoy this.
