A wine which seems to have kept itself hidden at the bottom of the samples pile. Good drinking mind you, when you get your hands on it.
A Primitivo and Barbera blend (54.7/45.3 to be exact). Fermented separately before spending 17 months in old French oak.
One whiff and slow cooked beef is calling me. Baked red berries, blueberries, dried red flowers and some violets type aromas too for good measure too. Medium bodied, there's a meaty edge to the fruit laced by dried herbs. Plums continue the push to happiness finishing soft and drying. Good drinking. I'd have a glass with a meal, no sweat.
Drink now to five years.
