A fabulous Hunter Valley aged Semillon. A museum release from Gundog Estate, this runs deep before asking some questions and then pulling you in closer. Superb!
There is a charismatic feel about it. Toasty to start with a bit of intensity but it's measured. Whiffs of kerosene diffuse - that classic aged Semillon trait. Preserved lemon and lemon rind add layers of interest through the mouth. It's long with fabulous width and keeps growing on me. It feels like a big ball of pleasure rolling around the mouth. I could be talked into another point. Great stuff!
