Orange is a region that I feel produces some very impressive Sauvignon Blanc. It must be the cool climate? This release from Quilty & Gransden is weighty and not as clean and crisp as you may expect.
Curious scents of lemon balm and honeyed tones early threw me off course. I was expecting those usual Sauv Blanc aromas, but not here. White fleshed stonefruit and soft citrus nuances reveal themselves in the mouth but there is a weightiness that I didn't find appealing. You get the sense the fruit is ploughing through the mouth. Perhaps some folk may enjoy that?
