I loved this deluxe. A seriously silky and complex Tuerong Pinot Noir from Montalto. Yes, yes and yes!
From a low-yielding vintage, there is not a lot of it but the quality is through the roof. Dense fruit with a delectable savoury drive, this is an excellent Pinot.
Dark cherries, plum skins and a flash of blackberry are joined by twigs and undergrowth. Blood orange and apricot kernels raise the interest level. There's a sheen about its presence and the use of whole bunches delivers some meatiness. Fine spices cap off a wine that moves and sways with absolute ease. Just brilliant!
Drink to eight years.
