A dry and sapping Pinot Noir from Nepenthe that is layered with a bucket load of savoury delight.
It opens with dark cherries and dark plums before they get taken over by orange peel, dried herbs, undergrowth and dried leaves. There is a distinct autumnal feel about its carry. Waves of spices roll through highlighted by some black pepper and Szechuan. A flicker of aniseed lobs up and then recedes in quick time leaving drying and cocoa-like tannins on a long finish.
Drink to eight years.
