This is a great Shiraz from Western Australia's Geographe region. It's a wine with fabulous grip and a tension that teases and builds allure.
From granite soils, that minerally vibe threads its way throughout. It sees French oak (35% new), which imparts attractive notes.
It opens with crushed red petals and a pretty perfume and shifts gear to dark plums, blackberries and sweet dark cherries that saturate the flavour profile. There is a juicy vibe but that is shrouded by a savoury sheet of dried herbs, chocolate and a minerally drive. A wine that possesses a respectable drive, persistence and continuity, this is a great drink for the asking price.
