Spicier than its George's Vineyard sibling, this Syme Vineyard release from Burton McMahon is a superb Yarra Valley Pinot Noir. Give it a little more time to see it at its best as was proven over a couple of days of tasting.
Once it found its groove, there is a lot to love about the shape and presence of this wine. Spiced cherries and strawberries are all the rage. Some oak shows its hand but this will settle with some bottle age. Twigs, undergrowth and mushroom compost deliver a wonderful savoury appeal with a bright acidity capping things off. That super fine length and moreishness is what I'm here for. Bravo!
