Delicate and silky, there is some serious drive from this Levantine Hill Yarra Valley Pinot. It slides through the mouth with ease. Another top up, please.
The back palate thins out quicker than expected I must admit but the concentration is all on the mid-palate. Dark cherries and dark chocolate, lashings of blackcurrants plus some rhubarb chimes in too. Aromas of dried red flowers give an aromatic lift with some smokiness and pan juices adding grunt. The persistence of the mid-palate is admirable and it lingers long with fine spices happy to hold the fort and seemingly reluctant to leave. Yes!
