A great Riesling from Head Wines, it possesses a cool minerally vibe - much like its maker.
From the Trial Hill vineyard near Pewsey Vale, the site was planted ~80 years ago and sits ~450 metres above sea level. The fruit was hand picked, whole bunch pressed and sent to stainless steel with a small amount of residual sugar remaining.
Limes, green apple and canned apple feature large with a faint scent of honeycomb. A quartz like minerality and composed phenolic grip sits in the background as a fine line of yellow grapefruit acidity draws a long bow and brings the mouth to water. A citrusy sorbet tang then kicks in and activates the moreishness. Delightful drinking, backing up for another glass is a no-brainer.
