Scents of sweet blueberries get you in the mood with dark plums, mulberries, tarry fruit and dark chocolate all putting their shoulder to the wheel. It's a wine with some punch and real power but there is also a softer, silky side which unfurls with time. Soft spices and black pepper are scattered through a long and persistent finish highlighted by tense tannins that shine a light on its ability to age beyond a decade.
