For a field blend, this absolutely sings. Often, elements can be out of whack or patched up in the winery, but the wonderful texture and silky feels elevate this from Hayes Family Wines.
A true field blend from the Hayes organically farmed Block 12, it is planted to Grenache Blanc, Clairette and Marsanne - a Rhone fruit salad of sorts. A wine with great flow, it's considered and offers much to ponder. White-fleshed stonefruit lays a solid foundation with ruby grapefruit, a dash of lemon juice, and almonds and almond meal adding an enjoyable nutty presence. Delicate ribbons of creaminess add further detail encouraging you to come back time and again. A fine dusting of texture expresses tonic-like feels as fine waves of ginger and white pepper spices roll through on close. And that length! Crazy good.
