The Fromm Vineyard sits in the Barossa's deep south and lies within arm's reach of the Adelaide Hills GI. Grown in clay soils, this is a touch more robust than some of the others in the Hayes Family Wines Grenache portfolio.
A wine that is most approachable, it possesses a raft of juicy strawberries, raspberry coulis and a scattering of dried herbs. A little dark chocolate is lobbed over the bow, but the satisfaction comes from its medium-bodied frame. The clay soils from this neck of the woods impart a tannin structure that is a little firmer and muscular delivering a silty-like presence. Above all, you'd be forgiven for seeing a few glasses evaporate in quick time.
