An 80/20 field blend, it spent 114 days on skins and six months in seasoned French oak. Bottled without fining or filtration.
Swirl the glass and the gloss and the sheen this gives off catches my eye. Heady aromas of crushed red petals and red berry fruit shift to a palate that is drenched with blackberries, rich plums and dark chocolate. Cherry pips rise up with some earthiness and black tea. A fine veil of minerality comes with the territory and speaks of the granite soils from which it was born. Delicate dusty tannins are scattered, seemingly with precision, on a lengthy and moreish finish. A night by the fire pit or even alongside the Sunday roast and you are winning.
