A great take on modern Chardonnay, I'd have no hesitation recommending this Riposte The Katana Chardonnay 2024. For a very reasonable $29, you are drinking well.
It undergoes partial wild yeast fermentation and sees French oak (25% new) where malolactic fermentation took place.
The shape and flow draw you in effortlessly. Opening with a burst of lemon juice, lemon meringue and white fleshed stonefruit, it gradually reveals layers of intrigue. A pastry-like texture, delicate nuttiness, wafer biscuits and vanilla cream contribute to the terrific width and flow. That length has graceful, dainty feet and glides through urging you to come back for more. Delightful stuff and excellent value.
Drink to five years.
