The Black Label represents Rikard's best parcels. A riper pick, this Pinot Noir sees more new oak compared to the White Label Pinot in the range.
Tasted side by side with the White Label, this Black Label Pinot Noir is a thicker, more structured wine with more tannins from a cooler year.
Made with 50% whole bunches, the stems certainly show - more than I'd prefer at this stage but it's only two years young. A wine with a long life ahead of it, dark fruit, red currants and rhubarb are the initial highlights before the savoury drive takes a stranglehold surging through to a long and persistent finish. Give it a little time and it should shine further more.
Drink to eight years.
