Payten & Jones Pinot Noir 2015

This comes off 17 year old vines and is made in two 500L barrels.

Ben Payten and Troy Jones are all about hands off winemaking letting the vineyard speak for itself. "Destem the fruit, toss it in the fermenter and let it go," Jones tells me.

Skinsy and earthy, lots of cherry fruit with a shimmer of peppery spice sit at the core of this wine. Deliciously soft and fine, layers of appeal slowly unfurl in the mouth. Moreish and then some. Plenty of happiness lies in this bottle.

Drink now to six years.

92/100 - Very good.
