My first look at an Edwards wine and I like what I see. The label is a tribute to founder Brian Edwards and his solo Tiger Moth flight from England to Australia in 1990.
This saw ten months in French oak (30% new). All the hallmarks of a classic Margaret River Chardonnay are alive here. Lemon butter, nougat, white fleshed peach, roasted nuts, match sticks, flint and well balanced acidity finishing with a citrusy tang. Delicate textural features work their way through the wine with poise. Long and flavoursome, I'd go here again, no question.
Drink now to eight years.
93/100 - Very good.
