Angove Organic Merlot 2016

Sometimes you taste Merlots and it's as though the winemakers just aren't trying. And then you get energetic and juicy examples like this. Well done to the Angove team.


You get the sense this is bouncing on the balls of its feet. Dark cherries, raspberries, dark chocolate and ground cinnamon. Juicy plums seem to keep everything within a tight grip ensuring it shines best, albeit marginally. Charred oak wraps up a pretty handy package that's worth a look. Top value too for an organic wine.

Drink now to three years.
