Ballandean Estate Messing About Fiano 2017

Fiano has found a happy home on the Granite Belt. So much so, one of the comments from the judges at the 2017 Queensland Wine Awards was to pull out all Pinot Noir and plant more Fiano. Fair call that too. Ballandean Estate were the trendsetters with Fiano and have continued to maintain a high standard with subsequent vintages.

Summertime vibes are all over this. Whiffs of lemon rind and juice, tonic and lemongrass. Winemaker Dylan Rhymer sets out to build some structure and he does that with the aid of a dual strand yeast. Lightish on its feet compared to previous vintages, there is still a dash of creaminess and citrus punch. Waves of cool refreshment await.

Get it on ice and kick the feet up.
