La Petite Mort Shiraz Viognier 2017

Where hipster street styling meets suave sophistication. Glen Robert isn't afraid to push boundaries and he's at it again here. Partial fermentation in amphora (the remainder in tank) and on skins for 135 days, there's something here for everyone seeking pleasure factor.

Gorgeously medium-bodied, the fruit sways and curls effortlessly around the mouth. Aromas of blueberries, soft plums and peppered steak flow with ease to the mouth. The fruit oozes charisma and flows with neat precision. A drop of Viognier (2.5%) adds an ever so subtle lift. Shades of pan juices slowly unfurl before a sprinkling of pepper spice rides the soft fruit wave to a long and satisfying talc finish. Such a delicious wine - I could dive into this with pike.

Drink now to five years.
