Jester Hill Touchstone Roussanne 2019

Not a big red drinker but seeking a white with a bit more depth? Try a Roussanne like this to get your juices flowing.

From the Granite Belt's only Roussanne producer, this sees Hungarian and French oak which imparts creamy and nutty characters. Layered with interest, swirl the glass to reveal barbequed pineapple, quince paste, custard apple and grilled figs. Lovely width plus an admirable creaminess add further levels of pleasure. Soft in the mouth, this just purrs. Bright acidity is still prominent, I'd be curious to see how it ages over the medium term. Persistent fine spices make this a wine worthy of curling up to on an autumn evening as you consider the long finish. Great stuff.
