Over a few hours, this Aglianico evolved beautifully. There's an endearing beauty about its savoury drive as it coats the mouth with ease. Black pepper, charred meats, puffs of earth and a hint of licorice all mesh together beautifully. The firmish tannins finish a little drying, but their eye is on the future - long term cellaring is certainly the game this variety plays very well. For now, give it some air and a hearty meal by its side and you have yourself a very satisfying and pleasurable wine. Great stuff.
