It took me a little while to get enthused by this Chardonnay from Victoria's Delatite.
Creamy oak and a cheesy factor raced for my attention early. A little more time in the glass and yellow peach and yellow-fleshed nectarines showed their hand. Layers of cashews and nougat added interest with vanilla cream adding to the positive momentum. That depth is hard to ignore yet there is a little clout behind its delivery where the fruit rushes hard. Give it time to pause and breathe. All up, it's a pretty tidy wine for the money I handed over.
Drink to five years.
