An elegant Barolo with a bold, muscular shade, this Vietti Barolo DOCG Lazzarito 2021 is all class.
The 42-year-old vines sink deep into soils at 250 to 400 metres above sea level. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel, followed by 30 months of maturation in large format Slovakian oak.
It opens with captivating aromas of pine needle, dried rose petals, raspberry rope and roasted hazelnuts. Generous and expressive, the wine commands attention with its savoury depth. Notes of orange peel, blood orange, tar, leather, and fresh mint weave through the palate. Its density and complexity create a powerful rhythm, showcasing impressive structure. Subtle layers of pepper and a whisper of cinnamon emerge on the finish. The length is striking, supported by superfine, powdery tannins that glide effortlessly. A remarkable wine that is both a pleasure now and one poised for graceful aging.
