I could sit on a glass of this all night and be satisfied. Damn it's good.
Sourced from a 135 year old vineyard, the wine sees time in puncheons.
Take a whiff and eucalypt aromas hit me straight up. Add to that purple flowers, violets, and kirsch.
Filling the mouth beautifully, it sits pretty carrying a medium body profile. Smooth feels, I just want to kick back in a big comfy chair with it.
Tim Smith admits Mataro is a hard sell, but when you have quality wine produced like this from wonderfully aged vines, a standing ovation is more than appropriate.
Drink now to ten years.
