Redman The Last Row Shiraz 2014

The second release of this wine from memory - and the only wine in the Redman range released under screw cap. Hand picked from 80 year old vines, pretty good value drinking.

A bit like a ballerina in her early days, this Shiraz starts firm on her feet before slowly getting into the groove and mastering the balance and movement.

Give it a good swirl. A whiff of cracked pepper, red berry tart, cocoa and shaved pencil all come to mind. Firmish in the mouth but screams for a steak to waltz with it. There's rustic appeal which enamors me. Cocoa and chalky like tannins wrap it up on a long and moreish finish.

In typical Redman fashion it will only get better with time. Will cellar to ten years easy.

Give it another year or so and I reckon it'll be dancing on point.
