Irrewarra Pinot Noir 2015

Irrewarra is an Aboriginal word meaning 'long spear throw'.
This label comes from the hands of Nick Farr and I was thrilled when he got in touch asking if I'd like a sample. A superb Pinot to get your hands on, one of those sip all night types.

Nick came across this vineyard 150km south west of Melbourne which was planted in 2001. It fell into disrepair and he took over in 2012.

A whiff of strawberry, rhubarb and expected dark cherry. A few swirls of the glass enable the savoury forest floor and fine spices to emerge. A slight citrus edge is quickly consumed by blueberries and soft red plummy fruit with that dark cherry standing over watching proceedings. Dangerously smooth and supple with drying finish, this is an excellent release.

Drink now to ten years.
