Steels Gate Wines Pinot Noir 2016

Pinot that's a pleasure to drink and doesn't rip a hole in your pocket.

Well packaged with a wax seal, there's a look of sophistication and shelf appeal.

Handpicked with 10% whole bunches used, I swear on first look I would have guessed it to be a fraction more. Bottled without fining or filtration.

Gutsy aromas of pan juices, soy and rosemary on roast lamb ably supported by black cherries and dark plums. I find this density intriguing and gravitating.

Soft spices and dark fruits with a smattering of raspberry hold the fort in the mouth coating it generously. The fruit doesn't flow through entirely but it's generosity ensures that can all be forgiven. Finishing long with a fine veiled spice, I'd happily share this time and time again.

Drink now to six years.
