Aphelion The Emergent Mataro 2018

I like this. Big time. It grows on you. It's the blue-collar worker type - sleeves rolled up and ripping in. Such a great drink.

Mataro is renowned for its earthiness and you get a bobcat's load of that. It heaves and sweats lugging pleasure to your feet. Char and meatiness line its boots. Raspberry and dark cherries spear their way to your heart. A firmness piques your pleasure zone with ribbons of dried herbs and aniseed to consider. A wine which I felt was middle of the road on opening, yet with time in the glass, chiseled its way to my happy place. A beauty. Find it.
