Mitchell Wines Sevenhill Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2001

Decant this for an hour plus and then sit back and indulge in the pleasure of great cool climate Cabernet Sauvignon.

I was sent this back vintage Cabernet by Andrew Mitchell to showcase how these wines age. I'm very grateful it was sent too - classy stuff indeed.

Classic traits of cassis and blackcurrant are true here. Time has played its part here and ensured a wine of class and charisma is delivered. Deep plum, leather handbag and some of those leafy Cabernet characters still tick away in the background.
A wine of restrained power and poise delivered soft, long and velvety smooth. There's still plenty of time left up its sleeve too - a beautiful example of aged Cabernet.

Drink now to six years.
