Robert Stein Mudgee Reserve Chardonnay 2016

Mudgee's Robert Stein Wines planted their vines in 1976. These Chardonnay vines come from those original platings. Handpicked and whole bunch pressed, 50% new French oak was used with a small portion of malolactic fermentation.

Buttered toast, faint hints of caramel, cashews, yellow stonefruits and fine spice all skip to a neat beat. It sways and flows with equal parts of elegance and sophistication. The oak gets the upper hand but the fruit holds its own at the same time. The drive and persistence keep you coming back for more. Don't serve too cold and you'll reap reward.

Drink now to eight years.
