Mudhouse Central Otago Pinot Noir 2014

Sometimes the simple things are often the best. And although this is a simplistic Pinot in some respects, it presents good drinking and varietal character.

Only a small portion saw oak which enables to fruit to drive the bus. Dried red flowers, dark cherry and some spice are the main players; the fruit is soft and the lively tannins fine. That spice rides long and the finish lasts well over a couple of minutes.

An enjoyable drop which is reasonably priced. I'd happily have a glass or two.

Drink now or within the next few years.
