Golden Grove Estate Vintage Grand Reserve Barbera 2012

The 2012 vintage on the Granite Belt was the best in recent memory. It was just one of those years when everything fell into place. So much so that Golden Grove released the Vintage Grand Reserve label which saw the best fruit parcels thrown at it.

Red berries and blackberry fruit run riot here. A lick of savoury goodness adds another layer and the blackberry surges back with dash of fruit sweetness. Crunchy acidity bares the hallmark of a smart Barbera and this sits in a neat groove wrapped up by chalky tannins. Perfectly weighted there's a moreish factor here and then some.

Drink now or cellar for the medium term.

Very good+
