Abel's Tempest Chardonnay Pinot Noir 2011

October is the start of the fizz season and here's a top start.

A 60/40 blend from a vintage low on yields due to spring frosts.

Bottled fermented and on lees for 24 months, the added complexity from this is clear. Though the wine is crisp and refreshing, there's a bready and yeasty element flanked by some creamy goodness. Citrus flavours are prominent and drive through to a long satisfying finish.

A great fizz and very enjoyable. Rip in now.

Very good.
