TeAro Estate Charred Door Shiraz 2015

Every TeAro label has a story. The Charred Door Shiraz is all about a cricket game and the two teams racing off to save a house on fire. The Charred Door remains as a tribute to the community spirit in the region.

A good drink and one I kept coming back to from a line up of three Shiraz.

It's on the heavy side and weighs in at 15.6% alcohol, but there are endearing qualities to it. One thing I have noticed across the board at TeAro is the high alcohol content through the range.

Super dark in the glass, dark plums, Rocky Road, berry compote and mulberries get amongst the action. There's a warmth to the delivery with wood spices clinging on at the death. Time spent in a mix of new and old French and American oak has added interest without overplaying its hand.

Drink now to eight years.
