Briar Ridge HRB Shiraz Pinot 2013

The excitement generated by some of the Hunter locals when talking about this wine is evident. Some even suggest it is one of the best reds in the Hunter at the moment. Easy to see why.

This is Gwyn Olsen's tribute to the Hunter's heritage - HRB standing for Hunter River Burgundy and brings together Shiraz (52%) and Pinot Noir (48%).

Medium bodied, dark cherries, raspberries, florals and pepper kick things off. Fresh and vibrant aromas. Scratch around a little more and flavours of clove and some earthy traits come to the fore. Tremendously smooth and silky, it is a beautifully balance wine.

Excellent.
