d'Arenberg The Dead Arm Shiraz 2013

Dead Arm on song. Gee I enjoyed this. It's certainly not at its best now though - give a few years and it will be shining brighter than a diamond.

Raisins, Christmas cake, dark plums and dark berry fruit swim about with ease. Fine and dusty through the mouth, the no fining or filtration comes into play here. Some warmth cuddles the insides for a sweet ride. Expected earthy characters appear late with a sprinkle of dried herb kicking on to a ripple of tannin through the mid palate which has a soothing effect. The longer it sat in the glass the better it became.

This will be long lived for sure. I reckon it will be a point or two better in coming years too. A very handy investment.
