Te Aro Estate Two Charlies GSM 2013

I really enjoyed the 2012 but this didn't get me as excited.

A 40/40/20 blend, charred oak hits you straight up. Some time in the glass didn't really inject any chill out factor for it either. Come day two it was a better wine but the oak was still too prominent for me.

Earthy, boot polish, baked raspberry tart. Quite flavoursome mind you when you look past the wood with a fair grind of black peppery spice. Lingering, drying and chalky type tannins. I just can't escape the oak.

I'd prefer others.
