Yalumba Tri-Centenary Grenache 2021
Planted in 1889, the Tri-Centenary block has been around for three centuries, hence the name. A Grenache like no other, the weight and complexity don't match the bright colour in the glass. This is an impressive wine.
Yalumba Bush Vine Grenache 2021
Ever reliable, this is a great Grenache to wrap your lips around. A glass of medium-bodied delish, some of the fruit comes from 100+ year old vines. Value much?
Chapel Hill MV Bush Vine Grenache 2022
A Grenache with some depth, the fruit and spices mingle with ease delivering a wine with an attractive presence and flow.

Soul Growers Equilibrium GSM 2022
This is what a great GSM looks like. It's not about the points but more about the pleasure and the delish factor it delivers. This Soul Growers absolutely smashes the brief. Need a reliable red to fall back on? Look no further.

Barossa Bourne GSM 2022
Mid-week bliss on a platter, this is such an easygoing and uncomplicated slurp. This Barossa GSM is that bottle of red wine you can turn to if you seek a good drink without too much complexity. Not too heavy and not too light, it's smack bang in the safety zone.

Purple Hands Grenache 2022
From the clay soils of the southern Barossa, this is a great drink to kick back with. Firm on opening, it's a wine that keeps its cards close to its chest. Give it time and a few swirls to reveal itself and you'll see it at its best - and it's worth that little wait.

Torbreck Hillside Grenache 2021
Torbreck is the second oldest functioning family winery in Barossa (apart from Seppeltsfield) and the vines for this Grenache were planted in 1949 - two interesting facts for history lovers to chew over according to winemaker Ian Hongell. Here we have a generous wine from the southern sub-region of Lyndoch which is also the warmest part of the valley.

Torbreck Les Amis Grenache 2020
With its feet steeped in stone soils, the Torbreck Les Amis is a wine with a heavy oak influence. Made for later, put it away and bring it out in 10 years+.

Juxtaposed Wait Vineyard Grenache 2021
More sophisticated than the Smart/Wait Grenache blend, this walks with a furrowed brow and intent. The focus of this release is quite noticeable and is a step to the right compared to the usual joyful and juicy Grenache wines seen in the past.

Juxtaposed Smart/Wait Grenache 2021
From the hands of the AWRI guru Dr Wes Pearson comes this Juxtaposed Grenache. A blend of fruit from the famed Smart and Wait vineyards (Clarendon and Blewitt Springs respectively), this 2021 is a muscular rendition.

Barossa Boy Little Tacker GSM 2018
This is my first look at these Barossa Boy wines and the consistency across the range is what stands out. Well made with plenty of personality, this GSM is a blend that you can faithfully keep going back to time and again.
