If the intention was to capture a bright, fruit-forward expression of the famed GSM blend, the team at Sorby Adams has nailed the brief with this Gudilly 2026.
Silky and imminently smashable, choc-dipped raspberries make an immediate impact as juicy red cherries are so vivid you get the sense they are dripping down your arm. Add blueberries, licks of pan juices, whispers of earthiness and effortless fine tannins all putting their shoulder to the wheel, and you have a vibrant and energetic blend in your hands. Incredibly approachable and a wine that will even take a chill in warmer months, this is a beauty. All for only $24! But for one criticism, what I find curious is the land of origin (the Riverland) has been cast aside for "South Australia". Sigh. Be proud of your heritage, I say - the Riverland produce many delicious wines just like this!!
Arm yourself with this for casual gatherings in the park, burgers, wings or even the humble snag on bread, and I guarantee that you'll be reaching for a top-up in no time. For what it is, this is great stuff.
