From a warm year, this Indigo Small Batch Chardonnay has a little extra snuggle factor.
There’s concentration through the mid-palate here, with fermentation in larger-format oak allowing the fruit to take centre stage.
Barbecued stone fruit leads into white-fleshed nectarines, old-school lemonade and caramel drops, before vanilla cream adds a gentle richness. Ginger and woodsy spices weave through the palate, bringing a touch of spicy warmth to the close.
There’s plenty of flavour, but the wine never feels cumbersome. The oak sits comfortably in the background, allowing the fruit and texture to carry the conversation.
And then comes the length. It lingers, leaving that gentle warmth behind and giving you every reason to reach for another sip. Good stuff.
