There are some leafy notes, as you’d expect, but the fruit takes centre stage with blackberries and blackcurrants flowing across a juicy mid-palate before subtly drying out. Mint, chocolate and dried herbs add savoury detail without distracting from the fruit. The balance and shape are ace, with a lovely drive through the palate delivering plenty of length. A gentle pitter-patter of fine spice adds interest on the close.
There’s plenty to like here right now, but bottle age should only make this better.
