A 50th release deserves a Cabernet with a little history behind it. Paying tribute to Joy Bowen on the front label, this is a traditional Coonawarra Cabernet that stays comfortably within its varietal lane.
Blackcurrants and licorice provide the core of the fruit, joined by roasted capsicum and passata, while a touch of mint and dried herbs add that familiar leafy edge. There’s nothing overly flashy here. It’s solid, reliable drinking that delivers what you’d expect, with enough savoury character to keep things interesting. A wine with heritage, consistency and a clear sense of place in the glass, it's great stuff.
