The last hurrah for this block for Dodgy Bros. Recently sold off, the fruit from this vineyard was often blended away. As a tribute, Wes Pearson has bottled this in its own right. A fabulous example of McLaren Vale Shiraz.
Planted in 1955, the fruit sees large format French and Hungarian oak.
A joyous medley of red and black fruits. Some char and a sneaky lick of cola adds interest but the delish factor of the fruit cannot be denied. Puffs of earth and aniseed flow at ease as the fruit fleshes out and seems quite selfless in its offering. Give it a decant to see it shine but it will age comfortably. That depth keeps me coming back - laser focused on delivering pleasure. Fine tannins, verging on powdery, tick away on a long and satisfying finish. I just didn't want this to stop, a fabulous Shiraz. Well played Mr Pearson.
