A wine suitable for medium-term cellaring, this needs some beef or lamb by its side.
Quite leafy with cassis and blackberries leading the charge, it is 57/43 Cabernet and Cab Franc blend. Roasted capsicum and dark chocolate rise up with dried herbs feathered throughout. Still a little firm after three days of tasting, the finish is draped in spices. Good going and a quality example of McLaren Vale Cabernet.
