Sensationally medium-bodied, Mike De Iuliis has made this blend his own in the Hunter Valley and the following this wine is getting continues to snowball. Deservedly so too - it is excellent!
Violets and purple flower aromas greet you from the outset. An 80/20 blend, juicy blueberries, licks of Ribena and black fruits plus dark cherries and fine spices all mesh together with absolute ease. Fine satiny tannins bask in the glory of the abundant fruit that strides out before, but time in the glass is its friend. It settles and just curls up seeking a cuddle - oh yeah! This is an absolute beauty and a keeper for the medium term and perhaps a little more. I've told Mike this is too cheap, but hey, the consumer is the winner right now at that price.
