This is a wonderful blend. It is a wine with so much going on and so much interest.
To get you in the mood, think scents of little white field flowers, ginger, almonds plus raw cashew nuances, ginger spices and apricot kernel. White fleshed peaches and apricots run the fruit show with a cameo from rockmelon. The Roussanne component (15%) was basket pressed a little harder, Tim Geddes tells me, to release this characteristic. Wild yeast fermented in a new 600L French oak cask, much of the spice can be attributed to the oak with a devilishly soft creaminess from time on lees. A dash of lime cordial swoops in on close as sizzling acidity brings the mouth to water. Delicious!
